Gift wrapping

Do you know what makes Tiffany’s so special? it’s not necessarily the jewelery- not the most beautiful in the world if you ask me- but those wonderful turquoise boxes. And the perfect white ribbons.

Gift wrapping and the whole package thing is often very underestimated. People think is what’s inside that counts but the way you present a gift says more about how much you care and the attention you pay to details than the actual gift. And Christmas is the perfect occasion to spend a little extra time and buy beautiful boxes, gift wrapping paper and ribbons. I for one find gift bags ugly. Plus, there’s no surprise for the person who receives a present because they don’t have to rip the paper and discover what’s inside.

If you are really clumsy, as I am, just take your presents to a special place where they’ll wrap them for you. You can pay someone to do it and chances are they will do it a lot better. And if you think boxes are too much, just tie the present with beautiful ribbon and slip a card under the bow. What I mean by ribbon is not the cheap, ugly thing people usually stick on presents- see below

Buy the real, satin or silk one from a haberdashery such the lovely VV Rouleaux. And stick to white, rose poudree, light blue or red.
