If I want to go dancing, there have to be Beyonce, MJ or Lady Gaga tunes. If I want to listen to MUSIC, I’ll pick my Rachmaninoff playlist on Spotify, and when I want both, I go to the Piano Bar in Kensington. I’ve just discovered this amazing place opposite High Street Ken tube station where the wine is superb, the food delicious and the atmosphere perfect. If you want to have a table you need to book a few weeks in advance especially for Fridays which apparently are their best nights. If you are lucky though, you get to sit at the piano which is the best spot in the bar. Arrive there early, around 7 when is quite so you make sure you sit as close to the piano as possible. It will be quiet until 9 when the piano man arrives.

This wonderful guy named Michael G Moore is a revelation. Not only he is so talented but very charming as well. The way it works it’s quite simple: people write their favourite songs on post-its and stick them on the piano for Michael to play them. There is a lot of dancing and things really go a little crazy after a few hours. However, I must admit last Friday was probably my best night out in two years since I moved to London. The Piano Bar is an exquisite venue and if you know and love good music and want to have a lovely experience, just go there.
